Judson Ewell was born in Marshfield, Massachusetts on October 23, 1839.  He married first, to Maria Leonard, who bore him four children all born in Marshfield, Massachusetts:

*(1) Leonard G Ewell - born  6 Feb 1873

*(2) Emeline Ewell - born on 14 Jun 1877

 (3) Walter Ewell - (1870-1870)

 (4) George E Ewell - (1881-1882).  

The latter two son both died in infancy.  Maria was born in Marshfield, Mass also in 1848 to George & Emeline Charlotte (Washburn) Leonard. She died in Marshfield, Mass on

8 Jul 1881.

His second wife was Julia Frances Rogers, born in  Marshfield, Massachusetts on Dec. 22, 1851, the daughter of Charles & Nancy (Carver)  Rodgers.  Julia bore Judson four children.  The children by Julia were:

*(5) Ralph Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass. on  December 5, 1886

*(6) Marion Rogers Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass on January 30, 1888

*(7) Ezra Gilbert Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass on  March 20,1890;

       and supposedly died in 1922, according to the gravesite

*(8) Edna F. Ewell,who was born on October 4, 1891.

All listed here are buried in the Marshfield Hills Cemetery.  Judson’s second wife,  Julia died in 1911.

The Second Generation

There were eight children all together fathered by Judson Ewell, of which two have continued into this next generation from his first marriage and the last four from his second marriage.

(1) Leonard Gordon Ewell - born in Marshfield, Mass. on  6 Feb 1873.  He married a

lady named Nina (-). On September 12, 1918, Leonard registered for the World War I draft. He was of medium height and stout stature. with brown hair and eyes. At the time of his draft registration he was residing at 11 Stickney Avenue, Somerville, Mass.  On 1894 he married (1) Maud Eunice Livermore of Charlestown, Mass.  She was the daughter of Perkins R and Julia (Adams) Livermore.  On April 15, 1930 they were listed he was listed at 2 Woodside Street in Salem, Massachusetts with his wife    , Nina C (Billings) Ewell (age 60) and her widowed motherSylvia Billings Ninah was a twin sibling of Silvia Billings, both 34 years of age in 1900 and living with their father in Maine.. On April 15, 1940 they were both listed at the age of 67 as residing in a house at 2 Woodside Street in Salem, Massachusetts since 1935.  Leonard worked in the private sector in banking as a vault clerk for Old Colony Trust out of Boston, Massachusetts.  His wife was a homemaker.It appears he had no offspring.

(2) Emeline Ewell - born in Marshfield, Mass. on  14 Jun 1877.

(3) Ralph Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass. on  December 5, 1886

(4) Marion Rogers Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass on

January 30, 1888

(5) Ezra Gilbert Ewell, born in Marshfield, Mass on  March 20,1890; and  supposedly

Marion married Arthur G Dresser (1884-1966).
